Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan or two loaf pans.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, cream cheese, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.
  3. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together. Gradually add to the creamed mixture alternating with milk. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Pour batter into prepared pan(s) and smooth out the top. Bake for 65-75 minutes for bundt or 60-70 minutes for loaf pans until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Let cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  6. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter for the caramel sauce. Stir in brown sugar while constantly stirring for about 2-3 minutes until it begins to bubble.
  7. Slowly pour in heavy cream while stirring continuously; then cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until smooth. Remove from heat and mix in vanilla extract along with a pinch of salt.
  8. Once your cake has cooled completely, drizzle warm caramel sauce generously over the top.
