  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon chopped garlic
  • 1 tablespoon regular flour
  • 3/4 cup full-fat milk
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup grated gruyère cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated fontina cheese
  • Salt to taste
  • White pepper to taste
  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Optional: Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Boil salted water in a large pot and cook the gnocchi per package instructions until they float. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  4. Stir in flour to form a roux and cook for about 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth.
  5. Mix in Dijon mustard followed by gruyère and fontina cheeses until melted; season with salt and white pepper.
